Each and every season, Bachelor franchise hostest-with-the-mostest, Chris Harrison teases the “Most Dramatic Season Yet.” Well, Chris, this season of Bachelor in Paradise you just might be right — and unfortunately for literally everyone involved — the audience won’t ever get to see it unfold (on screen, that is).

On Monday, news leaked that BiP cast members were being flown out of Mexico and into Texas, with stories that the show had been “suspended indefinitely” as an investigation was underway about a possible case of misconduct on-set, whistle-blown by a producer who felt uncomfortable about a “soft core porn”-esque hookup in the pool between Corinne Olympios and DeMario Jackson — both of whom were cast of the villains of their seasons on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, respectively. Ultimately, People confirmed that it was absolutely a question of sexual assault and a source from the franchise stated, “The show absolutely values the primacy of consent, and this instance it appears as though conduct allegedly occurred without the proper consent having been given.”

We reported to you on Wednesday everything that we knew about the unfolding sexual assault case — but promised to give an update once more news broke. Well, here we are.

Other Cast Members Weigh In

We broke down all the former Bachelor and Bachelorette hopefuls who had taken to Twitter to express their sadness/confusion or tbh, apathy about the whole situation but some other BiP alums decided to make some money tell their side of the story in public interviews. One person who was actually filming this season with Corinne and DeMario told People, “People are pissed, and not just at DeMario. We’re pissed that this whole thing happened. They could have seen that she was drinking too much and that he was taking advantage. They could have stopped this before it got this far. But they decided to let it go, and let it happen, and see what happened? So, I’m angry at the show, and everyone else is too.”

Jasmine Goode, who filmed The Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise with Corinne, has released a statement where she revealed what happened after the incident allegedly took place and makes it clear she’s #TeamDeMario. “I feel bad for DeMario. He’s a good guy. He’s sweet and not aggressive one bit. I am sad and disappointed this has happened. We are all shocked,” she told the Daily Mail. “I was taken back with Corinne’s statement that she’s the victim. That may be the role she plays on the show, but it’s a role.” Yikes. “I don’t believe she was a victim or traumatized. The statement she released doesn’t even sound like her. It sounds like someone wrote it for her. Not once did she complain or say she was upset with what happened in the pool with DeMario. She was laughing, having a good time. Even the day after, she was hanging out with DeMario and some other people in the hot tub. I honestly thought they were going to become a couple. She never, ever said one thing negative about DeMario. And she was never in danger, at least I never witnessed anything bad happening to her.”

Ryan Beckett, who appeared on season three of Bachelor in Paradise and Kaitlyn Bristowe‘s season of The Bachelorette gave his two-cents to People as well. “People drink like they were in college or on a cruise [in “Paradise”]. They go out and they drink more because they don’t have to drive, they’re on vacation. I think people indulge a lot more than they normally would,” He continued, “At the end of the day, it’s always the cast that has to decide if they want to drink or hook up.” Side note: other cast members (particularly female cast members) in the past have said that Bachelor producers certainly encourage over-drinking. Jordan Branch (from Chris Soules season) has said, “producers manipulated contestants by constantly refreshing their glasses.”

DeMario Jackson Makes a Statement

Yep — you heard that right. The man in question publicly voiced his opinion on the scandal. Now, as we mentioned on Wednesday (seriously, if you haven’t read that — do that now ’cause this whole thing will be confusing if you don’t), Corinne doesn’t necessarily blame DeMario for taking advantage of her intoxication as much as she blames the producers for soberly (and possibly maliciously) allowing it to happen. That said, DeMario’s sources admit that he remembers what went down in the pool, considering Corinne was in a complete blackout state, that still suggests a possible sexual assault. DeMario feels as though his “character and family name has been assassinated this past week with false claims and malicious allegations,” he said in a public statement. “I will be taking swift and appropriate legal action until my name is cleared and, per the advice of legal counsel, will be seeking all available remedies entitled to me under the laws.” He’s also basically begging that the tapes (you know — the ones that producers apparently continued to roll after a field producer tried to intervene during the incident) come out to the public that shows his and Corinne’s encounter. The guy feels pretty certain they’ll clear his name which is important because he was fired from his job as an executive recruiter. This isn’t the first time someone has been laid off because of something they did on the small screen, but the move has been questioned considering these are only allegations of sexual assault and nothing has been proven…yet. Basically, it’s PR nightmare for his company.

DeMario’s Ex Talks $h*! But Still, Thinks He’s Innocent

Remember the tiny brunette (Lexi) who publicly took DeMario down for being on Rachel Lindsay’s season of The Bachelorette ~for the wrong reasons.~ Well, she’s back and she’s still got a lot to say. TMZ reports that “He’s a 30-year-old man-child… he’s drunk every night. He’s literally always partying. So I was not at all shocked that he got wasted and got involved in some drama. But, it doesn’t sound to me like he was predatory or an aggressor. It sounds to me like the situation got messy and she wanted to cover up for herself… I don’t think he would take advantage of someone that was almost like, unconscious and unable to consent.”

She clarified, “I truly hate him. I think he’s a shitty guy and he’s self-absorbed. He’s not a good person, but I don’t think he would do something like this.”

Corinne Olympios Speaks Out

Lastly, we need to talk about what Corinne has said. While she’s been off of social media and staying away from the limelight (which is rare), she did make a public statement about the events that occurred while filming BiP. “I am a victim and have spent the last week trying to make sense of what happened on June 4,” she said. “Although I have little memory of that night, something bad obviously took place, which I understand is why production on the show has now been suspended and a producer on the show has filed a complaint against the production. As a woman, this is my worst nightmare and it has now become my reality. As I pursue the details and facts surrounding that night and the immediate days after, I have retained a group of professionals to ensure that what happened on June 4 comes to light and I can continue my life, including hiring an attorney to obtain justice and seeking therapy to begin dealing with the physical and emotional trauma stemming from that evening.”

Oh — And Another Thing About Bachelor in Paradise Season 4:

It’s been reported that fan-favorite Well Adams from Jojo Fletcher‘s season and BiP season three was going to be the friendly bartender on season four. He’s spoken out about the incident itself but it would’ve been fun to see him behind the bar (though tbh, is it even “Paradise” without Jorge?).
